Shopify e-commerce development for Kikkiline

The client’s needs

Kikkiline’s e-commerce site was running on Magento 2, a powerful but increasingly costly platform to manage and update.
The client needed to simplify the day-to-day management of the online store, reduce maintenance costs, and have a reliable integration with Danea Easyfatt, already used internally for accounting and warehouse management.
A simpler system was also needed for managing the template, discount handling, and integration with external services.

Goals

• Preserve the existing SEO rankings of the e-commerce site during the migration
• Simplify the day-to-day management of content and orders
• Integrate Shopify with Danea Easyfatt to synchronise products, prices, and orders
• Speed up page editing times
• Reduce maintenance costs compared to the previous Magento 2 platform

What was done

• Full migration of the product catalogue, customers, and order history from Magento 2 to Shopify.
• Setup of 301 redirects from the old product and category URLs to the new SEO-optimised ones.
• Development of a custom integration between Shopify and Danea Easyfatt for stock and order synchronisation.
• Development of custom apps for discount management and product feed export.
