Most software ideas die in one of two ways: they never start out of fear of the investment, or they start big and burn the budget before meeting a single user. The MVP is the third way: the smallest version of the product that lets you learn something real.

Frequently asked questions

A prototype proves the idea works (even just internally), an MVP is the smallest version you can put in front of real users. Often you start with the first and reach the second in a few iterations.
Not if it's built well: I use the same foundations as full projects (solid frameworks, tests on the critical parts), so what works grows instead of being rewritten.
We define the scope together starting from the budget: a sensible MVP can be built in a few weeks with a limited, measurable investment. Better to find out cheaply whether the idea holds.
